A little bit about me
Yoga always finds a way to come back into your life…
Moving to Bristol in 2021, I felt overwhelmed with the adjustment post-uni, post-pandemic. Just trying to find some stability in a noisy and fast-paced world. This led me to join regular yoga classes and meet so many wonderful people from this community. I felt inspired to explore yoga further, completing my yoga teaching training with Bristol School of Yoga.
I have always been curious about how we can feel connected with the world around us, and how to feel connected with ourselves. Yoga has given me the comfort I need to navigate spouts of anxiety and disassociation. I think we have to notice our beating heart and our breath, the way we move our body, the muscles and bones that make us real people!
Adding layers to this, we can connect to our bodies on a deeper level through yoga, challenging how we move, our balance and flexibility and our sense of a higher being in this world. Breaking through all the external noise to be more mindful and kind to ourselves.
I hadn’t ever planned to teach, but I found such a sense of joy in sharing yoga with people who came to my first few classes! It’s truly an honour to be a yoga teacher and share the heritage of this practice with others. My approach to teaching offers breathwork, meditation, holding a pose to feel the sensation of it, moving fluidly and creative sequencing. I offer cues and adjustments which are an invitation for students to practise but always optional.
If I’ve learnt anything, it’s that yoga is something we all need to make us feel grounded and to feel in our bodies. One way or the other, yoga will always come back to you when you need it most.
